Sugarbaby's Cupcake Boutique

So I was looking at a past issue of Southern Lady and came across this article about a cupcake boutique that I loved reading about so much the first time. It is called Sugarbaby's Cupcake Boutique. It is by far the most adorable place I have ever seen...I would love to have an office, studio or even the inside of my house to look like their shop. Done in chartruse, fuschia, black & white, it is to die for! I just love everything about it! I've never had one of their cupcakes but if it tastes as good as their store looks, it would be divine!

Uh yes...I would like to order this entire room...
And this one...
And let's not forget this one either!...
Can you imagine having the ambience of this cupcakery nearby? I would be there everyday ordering a delectable cupcake and cup of coffee and admiring the decor...
Are you getting the vibe that I really like the way Sugarbaby's looks? They even have an angel as their logo...how sweet is that? And their story...a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e! Lucky you if you live in the Houston area!!

Parchment Paper

May I tell you how much I love parchment paper? I really, really love parchment paper! Do you?

It is such a vital staple in my kitchen. It's up there with measuring cups in terms of importance. I love how it eliminates a mess. I hate when you bake sugar cookies and you have to put all that flour down as you roll so your dough won't stick. That yucky mess gets everywhere; the counter, the floor, the cookie sheet, on you, on the dog...you get the picture. With parchment paper, all that yuck is eliminated. How you ask? It's quite simple, I put the dough between two sheets of it and roll it out. No flour, no stick, no mess!

I also line my baking sheets with it. I place the non-floured cutout cookies on there, bake them, use the parchment paper to lift them off and put on cooling racks. Wha-la! Still no mess. Cookie sheets are still clean. Tell me this is not better than sliced bread! I use it when I toast bread in the oven and whenever the need arises.

Now...as if that wasn't the best, here's another perk...I use Reynolds Genuine Parchment Paper, and on the inside of the box is a coupon for $1.00 off two boxes. I mean if you're buying it anyway, how wonderful to have a coupon!

"Mommy's Sippy Cup"

I stumbled across this picture from a wonderful blog, P is for party. How adorable is this cup? Would this not be perfect for a ladies night or an evening playdate? Enjoy!

Aprons

Have you noticed that aprons are making a comeback? I think deep down women strive to be like June Cleaver from Leave it to Beaver. I mean how chic' is she...hair perfectly done, belted dress, high heels and let's not forget the all important pearls around her neck. "Just a day in the life of a housewife, right?" And when she heads into the kitchen to start dinner ( a real dinner...made from scratch) or even make a nutritious snack (do juice boxes and granola bars count?) she puts on that perfectly pressed apron. I do believe that she is the first domestic diva, wouldn't you agree? I just love that whole look that she has going and what it means. When you put on an apron, doesn't it just set the stage of what is about to begin? I never seem to put on an apron when I'm rushed or hurrying to throw something together. But, when I have the time and I'm looking forward to preparing a delicious meal for my family, doesn't donning an apron seem to enhance the mood? The preparation is more enjoyable...the food tastes better...you seem to be "in the moment." Try an apron the next time the mood strikes...

These are from the hip hostess (hiphostess.com)...so many to choose from
Love this one...pretty in pink

how about this one when you're feeling sassy...

or how about this one when maybe you're grilling...

Magazines

Speaking of living beautifully, two of my most favorite magazines are Southern Lady and Victoria both put out by Hoffman Media. If you have never taken the time to flip through these lovely pages, you are truly missing out. When the new month's magazines are arriving, I get so excited checking to see if my Southern Lady and Victoria have shown up. And when they do, I hurry to make sure all my chores are done and look so forward to sitting in my favorite chair and savoring every inch of those magazines. I read EVERY LITTLE MORSEL I tell you and love every moment! The thick, glossy pages are filled with beautiful pictures, delightful articles and yummy recipes. And it gets better...now Southern Lady puts out seasonal issues. I just picked up the halloween one the other day and I'm ready to get the pumpkins out and the tailgaiting started. It inspired me to get out the other fall issues from past years (yes...I keep them all, I can't help it!) and get my mind wandering in that season's direction. Anyone else in the mood for pumpkin spice?
