I thought it would be most appropriate

I think I'll wear this pretty tomorrow...

Ice Cream Cone Cookies

A dear friend asked if I could make

ice cream cone cookies

for her daughter's birthday...

Of course...Goosie Girl would love to!

She wanted the colors to be hot pink & turquoise...

and I added a sparkly cherry on top...

I also love how the waffle cone turned out...

Enjoy the celebration!

A Sweet Cookie Treat

On a whim, I tried out something different

with my cookies...

I sandwiched buttercream icing 

(which is absolutely to DIE for) 

in between two small cookies 

and then rolled them in sprinkles for some fun...

I like the overall concept...

but I would make a few changes next time...

There was too much cookie and not enough icing...

But they looked cute all packaged up...

They might be a new addition once I tweak them...

Living Your Best Life

I popped over to Decor8 last evening

(which I'm so glad I did)...

and was reading about the Blogging Your Way class

that she and Leslie from A Creative Mint teach...

I took the online version last year

and learned SO much...

Holly & Leslie are now doing the class

as a workshop over a weekend...

(I need to stay tuned and see if she comes to the Big O)...

Anyway she was talking about how your blog 

should be a catalyst to you living your best life...

I have to say that I think mine is for me...

I love taking time to study, admire and become inspired each day

from the beauty that others and myself have created & designed

through celebrations, style, food, 

products, flowers and just daily living...

There really is nothing better...

and I am so excited...

But I have to tell you it is very difficult

making sure every detail is addressed...
From the business card...

You pay a lot of money 
and don't want to get something back 
and go oops I really wish I could change this...

Monday Musings

Happy Monday!

What's on everyone's agenda this week?

I've, of course, got a full week of school...

A few cookie orders...

and we'll see what else the wind blows in...

Perseverance

BEWARE:  This is a long, serious post...

Lately I feel as if I was really being tested
by God...

I was REALLY having a hard time 

making it to the end of the school year...

I have the countdown on my calendar...

63 more school days...

I feel like 63 days of my life wasted...waiting...

Thursday I was sitting at my desk at school

before the bell rang practically in tears praying

to God that he would let me retire early,
 or let me quit...I just couldn't take it...

and then Friday morning in my
 read-through-the-bible-in-a-year readings...

God provided me with his answer... 

Let perseverance finish its work 
so that you may be mature and complete,
not lacking anything.  James1:4

As if that verse wasn't enough...
the ENTIRE 3 chapters that I read 
all talked on having perseverance...
and finishing what you started...
It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders...
Now I know there is no question 
that I must finish the school year...

And another ironic tidbit...
God uses experiences to equip us 
for what he has in store...
Since I am a reading teacher...
I use a lot of novels to study...
All of my books that we do class studies on...
have to do with perseverance...never giving up
even when the situation is tough...

Funny how I try to engrain that into my students
but I'm to blind to see it in my situation...
God is good isn't he?!

Sweet Friday - Sunshine Cookies

What could be sweeter for a Friday

than these sunshine cookies...

These are being sent to a little girl 

who just had ear surgery...

I think they will definitely cheer her up...

While perusing on Etsy the other day...

and I just love the colors...

In fact while I was out this weekend
I found more items in this color scheme...

I have ideas swirling for a sugar cookie...
And then while on Pinterest...
Look what jumped out at me...

Hmmm...whales look really sweet in these colors...

That's not what I was thinking cookie wise...
but I may have to reconsider...

So I though I'd add to the ocean theme

Since the Hub was out of town this weekend...

I had some extra time to make some new cookies...

I just love their sparkle & shine...

I couldn't decide between the rim done in sparkle dust...

(Goosie Girl liked this one)

or the rim in sanding sugar...

(This was my fave)

So how about both together...

Wouldn't these be the sweetest addition

to a happy hour...

a bachelorette party...

a cocktail party...

or just a girls night out...

Perfect Pair Twins Party

I spied this magnificent party

on Bump Smitten designed and styled

by the fabulous Jordan of Polka Dot Prints...

(I have been a follower of hers for a long time)...

And as much as I love dessert tables

(and I have styled my fair share)...

I'm starting to wean myself away from them...

I much prefer this set up...

where everything is beautifully laid out on one table...

Who needs all those sweets anyway?

I'd much rather have at least an equal amount 
of both savory & sweet...

Every detail of this party has been executed to perfection...

right down to the menu cards...

The vintage drink table has me swooning with the baby's breath
and along side the perfect packaged favors...

What a FABULOUS party!

Lego Cookies

I can remember playing with Legos

when I was growing up...

It's hard to believe they are still popular today...

They have definitely stood the test of time...

But what's not to love?

A good friend asked me to make these for a birthday party

she is having for her grandson...

He lives in Pennsylvania but spends time in the summers with her...

So she is flying him down, taking him to Legoland

and then surprising him with a birthday party 

with all his "Florida" friends...

Amazing, huh?!

Each favor has 1 big, 1 medium and 1 small lego cookie

nestled in cello and tied with a bow...

The rest will be plated for the guests to munch on...
