Patriotic Fruit

There are many ways
to add patriotic detail to the ordinary...
For example...rather than just cutting up fruit...
use a star cookie cutter instead...
It definitely adds a nice bit of flair...
Don't you think?

Cupcake Wrappers

I'm loving these ideas for cupcake wrappers...
Especially this one...
Pop a wrapper over a plastic cup to dress it up...
Brilliant!
and then a baby wrapper to dress up
a simple ice cream cone...

"Thanks A Bunch" Balloon Cookies

I just made these lovelies
for a friend to say
"thanks a bunch"
for helping me out...
A bunch of balloons that is...

I'm going to snuggle them up in filler,
put them in a vessel,
wrap them in clear wrap
and tie them up with a bow...
A perfect thank you gift!

Did you know that Goosie Girl is now selling
these pretties in her Etsy shop?
Please give us a try the next time you need
cookies for an event or gift!

Goosie Girl's Luau Party

Well Goosie Girl's luau party
went off without a hitch...
It started with skating...

I remember those days...it really hasn't changed much...
And then we proceded back to our house
for dinner (chicken nuggets & mac& cheese)
and sweets...
All planned by Goosie Girl herself...

Goosie Girl was very happy with the way it all turned out...
The girls had a great time playing, eating, swimming
and just hanging out...

Sweet Friday - Palm Tree Cookies

The luau party
that Goosie Girl is hosting for a few friends
is tonight...
She has been a busy bee getting everything ready...
One request that she (and her friends) had for me
was to make cookies...
After much deliberation...
she decided she wanted a palm tree...
So this is what I came up with...
I made two designs...
The first with a pink background...

and the second with no background...

Goosie Girl chose the pink background...
The hub & I thought the no background one
was more of an adult Tommy Bahama version...
(which we liked for us)...
I'll share her pics next week...
Wish us luck!

Fourth Of July Wreath

While perusing on Pinterest...
(my favorite pasttime)...
I happened to come across a precious wreath
that I decided to recreate...
However...
I had no idea what I was getting myself in to...
I started with a styro wreath...
I had decided to cover it in felt rosettes...
Sounds easy enough...right?
Until you get started...
G-A-Z-I-L-L-I-O-N-S of these little pretties
I had to make...
Cut out...

assemble & sew...
Poof them...
and then attach them...
But I L-O-V-E the finished product...
It is exactly what I wanted...
And what's so nice is that I can change out
the ribbon to go with the different holidays...
What do you think?

A Lemonade Stand

With it being summer...
and children out of school...
Lemonade stands are popping up everywhere...
I'd definitely stop and indulge in the sweet treats
from this one...
wouldn't you?

Do It Yourself Cupcake Stands

Everyone loves a sweet little cupcake stand...
right?
Sometimes, these little pretties can get a bit pricey...
Not if you do it yourself though...
Look...
Sky's the limit with color...

because all you need is...

and...

and finally...

When you add them all together...
it equals...
Sweetness...

Sweet Friday - Icing Designs

Have you ever stopped & visited Icing Designs?
You really should...
Just pop over...
I'm sure they wouldn't mind...
They have the sweetest eyecandy ever...
Like their newest addition...
The Ballerina...
But what has really tickled my fancy
is this...

Cupcake tutus...
I'm swooning...
And with the Potter & Butler topper...
I'm giddy...

And matching wands...
Seriously...my cup overfloweth with joy...
Happy Sweet Friday!

Organizational Love

I'm always looking for ways
to stay organized...
Here are a few that I've thought we're functional
and some are rather pretty too...
This is a great way to keep baking soda fresh...
I love the twine bow too...
 Now this isn't exactly pretty...
However, it is quite functional...
Don't you think?
I'm definitely going to give this a try
because my ribbons are a mess...
I love the way this looks...
But not for laundry...
I had visions of this being
"an everything you need box"
to make your signature recipe...
like cookies...
 Adoring this tiered tray
to hold craft items...
 This would be the ultimate
organizational tool...
cabinets with pullout drawers...

Layered Jello

Goosie Girl is planning her own party
for a few of her friends
to celebrate graduating from elementary school...
She's already ordered polka balloons...
with her own money...
She's sketched out her food table...
She says she needs a few more items to complete it...
I thought this might be a yummy & pretty accompaniment...
This actually is a jello shot...
Of course I would omit the alcohol for Goosie Girl...
But how fun would these be for the 4th of July
to have kid friendly AND adult friendly versions...
Click here to get the full how-to...
