A Christmas Card

One of my clients
who has been with me from the beginning
(you may remember
I styled her 40th birthday party)
always asks me to design her Christmas cards...
So I am just loving the one for this year that has a vintage feel...
A sparkly background...
A sparkled white lace paper border...
The actual card glittered up...
It is gorgeous (if I do say so myself) in real life...
The pics do not do it justice...
I can't believe it's time to start sending
Christmas cards out!
Do you have your cards picked out yet?

Valentine Wishes

Here are some conversation heart cookies that I made for both Goosie Girl's class party & a client...
They are sassy & fun, no?
The front of Goosie Girl's valentines...
We decided on tags to tie on goody bags in lieu of traditional cards.
She opted for a blue owl with sparkle...
The back of the tag with the sentiment...
The coordinating owl cookie for the goody bag...
She is a sweet little thing isn't she?
Yummy, too!
Packaged & ready for hand out...
Goosie Girl wishes you a Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine Wishes

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, it's time to start thinking about Valentine cards.

I used to love, when I was a child, picking out Valentines that I was going to give to my friends & classmates. It was such a choice...you had many things to think about...the cuteness factor...they couldn't be to mushy...they had to be just right!

I created three Valentine's this year...2 of them are girl Valentines (I gave Goosie Girl a choice) and 1 is a boy Valentine...all of which are "owl" (I'm swooning over owls at the moment) themed.

Take a peek...
Pretty pink owl with sparkle on her wings & belly

Pretty pink, heart owl with a rhinestone trim...

Brown owl...I can't say it's cute if it's for a boy...
(but it really is!)

Goosie Girl chose the pretty pink owl (the first one)...
All 3 of these are on available at goosiegirlcards.com
or my etsy store...

And how about those fab mailboxes that you got to create?
It makes me giddy just thinking about it!

How sweet are these little things? I want one!
Thanks "No Biggie" for finding these for us!

Cards Any Time Of The Year?

It's a known fact that when Christmas rolls around, one of the things you do is send cards, right? Many times we consider it to be "a chore" rather than a blessing. I know none of us feel that way, right? wink**wink

To be honest...this is so horrible...I didn't even send Christmas cards out this past year...GASP!

Well, who said that cards were only suppose to be sent at Christmas? Everyone expects them then anyway. What about surprising friends & family with cards another time of the year? Maybe a New Year's card, Valentine's, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Happy Middle of the Year? A time that is maybe, not so busy. Where you might actually "enjoy" the process? Is that possible?

I think this is also a great marketing idea for businesses as well. I know I get excited when I get a card in the mail, you too? My hub's business didn't get around to holiday cards this year either...go figure...So...instead, I created one for 2010. He has gotten a good response from them, I think, because people weren't expecting them. It was a nice surprise...

So...what do you think??

Christmas Thank You's

It's hard to believe that Christmas Eve is one week from today. It's time to start thinking about writing thank you notes. Goosie Girl has already received gifts from relatives (in the form of money, which is her favorite) so I made up these adorable notes for her to start expressing her gratitude...what do you think?

These didn't photograph as well as I'd have liked but they are in the turquoise & red that I've been seeing all over...of course with added sparkle & a Swarovski crystal for the bow...complete with a coordinated polka dot lined envelope...

Three Miscellaneous Items - Cupcakes, Parties and Christmas Photo Card

I had to also share with you these Funky Monkey cupcake toppers and wrappers that I had made as well...complete with a Swarovski crystal on the bow...

These don't have the pretty frosting on the top but they still look adorable, no?

The little Funky Monkey's all snug in their wrapper...for show...

Okay...
also another point...
I ran into Walmart yesterday and, of course, had to peruse the Christmas decoration isles, and found so many items that could be used for parties throughout the year. The vibrant greens, pinks, blues, silvers...I had party after party that I was thinking all of these baubbles could be used for...
I started stocking up...
I got these adorable polka dotted fuschia presents to use maybe on presents or a napkin ring or for a baby shower...the possibilities are endless and these were $2.00 a package. Great prices...so start thinking ahead...

Next and last on the list today...a photo Christmas card...
everybody loves those right?

especially when they are ready for framing...
just pop that baby in a 5x7 frame and you have instant cuteness!

full of color and personalized to cut down on some time...

A perfect way to show off the family, the children or maybe even the pets...

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go...It's all out, isn't it? Commercials on television...displays in the stores...soon they will be playing it on the radio...I love it! Don't you? I must admit that I snuck in a little Diana Krall Christmas music while I was designing Christmas cards. I had to get in the spirit, you know what I mean? I already have all the fall decorations down, ready for Christmas to be put up. It truly is my favorite time of year!

Goosie Girl is proud to show off this year's two Christmas card designs...are you ready?

Ta-da...

I went with granny smith apple green color, a black &white background & a berry color. Of course no card would be complete with a little sparkle...

I just love the whimsical presents! This card is a 5x7. How cute would this be framed and sitting out for all to be adored? (It's actually ready to go...just pop it in a frame, maybe a black one?)

The inside has the same look as the front of the card...
The message in the card can be customized to suit anyone's needs. Keep the saying the same, change it entirely, whatever!

I must say that this one is my fave! I love the stocking and the black & white background. The colors look fantastic on the green. This card is a 6x6. Just like the other one, this too would look precious framed & sitting out for all to see. Who says cards can't be multifunctional?

The outside is carried to the inside. As with the other one, it can be customized to suit your needs. The present at the bottom adds a burst of color & sparkle.

So...what do you think?

I haven't come up with a fabric one yet...I just haven't found anything that sparked my interest. I'm still working on that one...
